Seven members enjoyed this walk. We started along the Beara – Breifne Way at Dromgarriff and continued by track on the foothills of Cobduff Mountain and the Old Mill Road to Coomhola Bridge where we enjoyed lunch. Then it was uphill through magical sun-flecked forest onto open hillside giving magnificent views of Bantry Bay and Glengarriff Harbour. The Caha Mountains and Sugarloaf were to our backs. It was a delightful walk in glorious Autumn sunshine with scintillating company.

What a wonderful weekend of weather and unique Burren geology, enjoyed by 13 of our members. On Friday afternoon, we took a short “stretch-the-legs” stroll and were lucky enough to observe a turlough lake. On Saturday, we walked the Cliffs of Moher from Liscannor to Doolin in glorious weather. Sunday’s weather looked less than promising, but it all cleared enough for us to climb Mullaghmore.
